O CARRILHÃO surgiu em Oudenaarde, Bélgica, em 1510 na torre do prédio da prefeitura. É formado por 23 sinos de bronze acionados por um teclado com a mesma configuração de um piano e uma pedaleira como a do órgão. Cada nota é acionada ao golpear os bastões com os punhos ou os pés. É possível realizar concertos com peças originais para carrilhão ou arranjos de música para teclado, com algumas adaptações. The CARILLON appeared in Oudenaarde, Belgium, 1510, at the town hall. It consists of 23 bronze bells triggered by a keyboard with the same configuration of a piano and pedals, like the organ. Each note is triggered when striking the batons with fists or feet. It can perform concerto with original music for carillon or arrangements from keyboard, with some adjustments.
