A IMPRESSÃO DE PARTITURAS NA IDADE MÉDIA Music Printing In the Middle Ages __________________________________ Após o desenvolvimento do sistema de impressão por Gutemberg foi possível reproduzir em larga escala, não apenas textos e figuras, mas também PARTITURAS! Até então, isso era obra manual de copistas, o que limitava o número de exemplares. Mas imprimir partituras não era tão simples como textos ou gravuras! Foi um desafio tecnológico adaptar esta técnica para reproduzir todos os elementos da escrita musical. Estas adaptações mudaram a maneira como escrevemos os símbolos musicais hoje. O trabalho para imprimir uma simples linha melódica era tanto que, no caso de um hino a varias vozes, cada cantor tinha a sua parte escrita separadamente numa mesma página e a partitura era aberta no centro da mesa para que todos lessem juntos. Isso era mais viável do que imprimir uma cópia para cada como fazemos hoje. Until then, this was manual work of copyists, which limited the number of copies. But printing sheet music was not as simple as text or pictures! It was a technological challenge to adapt this technique to reproduce all elements of musical writing. These adaptations have changed the way we write music today. The work to print was such that, in the case of a part song, each singer had his part written separately on the same page and the score was open on the table for all read together.
