Musica FEUROPA V, the fifth edition of the only Far Eastern University-European Union Choral Competition in the Philippines is set to begin tomorrow May 24th and 25th at the historic Far Eastern University(FEU) Auditorioum. More details after the break...
The competition involves competitors in two categories:
1. High School Choir Category for High school choirs
2. Open Choir Category for university/college, community-based, church-based choirs, etc.
The semi-finals holds tomorrow 24th while the Grand Finals takes place on the 25th.
Choral groups that have qualified for the semi-finals will perform two pieces, one written by a Composer with European Union nationality while the other will be by a Filipino composer in any style or genre (popular,
sacred, folk, contemporary) and any language or dialect.
The presentations will be judged on technique, artistry, difficulty of piece and overall performance.
All participating choirs will receive a Certificate of
Participation while prizes for winners in both categories are as follows:
High School Choir Category:
1st Place – 470 euros/P25,000 and Trophy
2nd Place – 282 euros/P15,000 and Trophy
3rd Place – 188 euros/P10,000 and Trophy
Open Choir Category:
1st Place – 1000 euros/P53,000 and Trophy
2nd Place – 752 euros/P40,000 and Trophy
3rd Place – 376 euros/P20,000 and Trophy
