MANILA Broadcasting Company invites ensembles to join the 2014 MBC National Choral Competition.
Considered as the biggest all-inclusive choral competition in the country today, the contest will be conducted in two divisions, the children’s choir and the open category.

Albacappella bring harmony to Deeside village fun day (Deeside Piper)
A CULTER-based women’s choir used their talents to help out another Deeside village recently, performing at the Durris Fun Day event.
The Albacappella barbershop-style harmony singers, who normally rehearse in Peterculter’s Heritage Hall on Wednesday evenings, went along to the Fun Day on September 20 to help raise funds for the Durris Village Hall and community,.
Albacappella member Sarah Hopkins told the Piper: “Hundreds turned out for the event and we were delighted to help.”

CLC Music Department announces fall concert lineup (Community Contributor College of Lake County Public Relations and Marketing)
Seven concerts, featuring a huge variety of choral and instrumental music, will be presented by the College of Lake County Music department during fall semester. The CLC Music department boasts four instrumental groups: the Monday Night Jazz Ensemble, the Tuesday Night Jazz Ensemble, the Wind Ensemble and the Concert Band. CLC's choral program includes four ensembles: the Choir of Lake County, the CLC Singers, the Chamber Choir and the Gospel Choir. The ensembles feature musically talented CLC students as well as community members.

The Gwinnett Choral Guild (Guild) will present "A Diminished Mass" by Scottish composer Alan A. Craig at Duluth First United Methodist Church on October 18, 2014. The performance places the traditional liturgical texts in a modern setting.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A number of local church choirs joined together to perform in ArtPrize.
The idea to bring together singers from historical downtown Grand Rapids churches and local Christian schools in a single choir arose in May, and “Voices of the City” was born.
Songs were chosen and the choir, which is made up of about 350 members of all ages, started practicing earlier this month.
“Voices of the City” was performed Sunday afternoon at the Cathedral of St. Andrew. Singers from Aquinas College, Catholic Central and West Catholic high schools, Grand Rapids Christian High School, LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church, Westminster Presbyterian Church, First (Park) Congregational Church, the Cathedral of St. Andrew, the Basilica of St. Adalbert, and other area churches participated.
The director was excited to take part in the world’s largest art competition.

The open door lets the women’s singing waft into the cool evening.
Had someone passed by on the narrow, residential street in this college town, they may have slowed, stopped even. And listened in the dark to the two-round, a cappella harmony coming from the small, white house.
But they likely would not have recognized a tune or lyric. The songs are not for them.
They are for the dying.
The women inside make up Lawrence’s new Threshold Choir. The idea is for members to go in small groups to a hospice setting, hospital or home and sing softly at the bedsides of those near death.

A pop-up choir sang for hundreds of their neighbours in Caledonian Park.
The group, made up of residents of the nearby Parkside Estate, in Holloway, were given a standing ovation last month as they ended their set with the crowd calling for an encore of Bobby McFerrin’s song Don’t worry, be happy.

VIDEO: Choir of 5,000 voices fight Cancer with memorable song
Ryan & Shannon’s Largest 'Clouds' Choir of 5,000 Singers singing Zach Sobiech's 'Clouds'.
It was a gathering of about 5,000 singers on 6th of December at the Mall of America, Bloomington, Minnesota, U.S on the occassion of KS95′s Ryan & Shannon’s Largest 'Clouds' Choir, to remember Zach Sobiech, who died of Cancer in May of 2013.
While Ryan and Shannon are presenters with KS95, the event was part of the 15th Annual KS95 for Kids Radiothon, a charity/fund raising event which benefits Children’s Cancer Research Fund and Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.
The singers who were mainly fans and listeners of KS95, a Minneapolis based radio station, sang Zach Sobiech's hit song - 'Clouds'. KS95 debuted the song on December 6, 2012, during Ryan & Shannon’s KS95 for Kids Radiothon for that year 2012. Zach was still alive then and had turned to songwriting after he was diagnosed of Osteosarcoma, a type of bone Cancer.

Record Breaking Akwa Ibom State Christmas Carol Night Around the Corner
The Uyo Sports Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria is getting set to once again host the Record breaking Akwa Ibom State Government(AKSG) Christmas Carol Night which has been scheduled to hold on December 21, 2013.
According to AKSGonline.com Community, "the event which is a pet child of Governor Godswill Akpabio administration started in 2008 with 9,300 choral singers from the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom State has now grown to 9,999 against 7,514 singers Guinness Book of Records largest assembly of choristers at the Bob Jones University in South Carolina, United States in 2004".
