Christmas Carols – parte 4 NOITE FELIZ Silent Night __________________________________ "Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht" é o mais popular dos Carols. Foi declarado Patrimônio Cultural Imaterial da Humanidade pela UNESCO em 2011. A canção foi apresentada pela primeira vez na véspera do Natal de 1818 em St Nicholas, igreja paroquial em Oberndorf, Alemanha. Um jovem padre, Joseph Mohr, tinha chegado no ano anterior. Ele já tinha escrito a letra de "Stille Nacht" em 1816 em Mariapfarr, onde havia trabalhado como auxiliar. Antes da véspera de Natal, Mohr trouxe a poesia para Franz Xaver Gruber, professor e organista na aldeia vizinha de Arnsdorf, e pediu-lhe para compor uma melodia para voz e violão para a missa. Ambos cantaram o Carol durante a celebração da noite de 24 de dezembro. Uma curiosidade: o título original era "Weihnachts lied", mas ao longo do tempo, a frase inicial acabou tornando-se o nome pelo qual todos a conhecem. It was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2011. The song was first performed on Christmas Eve 1818 at St Nicholas parish church in Oberndorf. A young priest, Father Joseph Mohr, had come to Oberndorf the year before. He had already written the lyrics of the song "Stille Nacht" in 1816 at Mariapfarr, where Joseph had worked as a coadjutor. Before Christmas Eve, Mohr brought the words to Franz Xaver Gruber, schoolmaster and organist in the nearby village of Arnsdorf and asked him to compose a melody with guitar accompaniment for the church service. Both performed the carol during the mass on the night of December 24.
