regram @cnconcerts Professor Hawking, fellow of Caius College, Cambridge said "Caius gave me a home, literally and figuratively." The college made sure he could continue his research despite his increasing disability. Caius adapted the medieval buildings so that he could move around at the college. The College also adapted his house in West Road where he wrote A Brief History of Time. Caius also paid for an emergency airfare for him to return home for a life saving treatment when he fell ill with serious pneumonia at a conference in Geneva. In 1965 Stephen Hawking was told that he might not live long enough to complete his research but last week the college celebrated his 75th birthday. The Caius choir sang for him a song called 'Beyond the Night Sky' composed by alumnus Cheryl Frances-Hoad. This summer when the choir tours Asia, they will be singing this song at their three concerts: 29th Aug Victoria Concert Hall, Singapore 30th Aug Concert Hall, City Hall 1st Sept National Centre of Performing Arts, Mumbai #Sistic #Urbtix #Oforthewingsofadove #cherylfrancishoad #beyondthenightsky #stephenhawking via Instagram http://ift.tt/2rJWoUE
