regram @cnconcerts In October 1907, Jawaharlal Nehru, went to Trinity College, Cambridge and graduated with honours in Natural Science. Fifty years later, his nephew Ajit Hutheesing, inspired by his uncle Nehru also went to Cambridge, he graduated from the College of Gonville and Caius College. Ajit is my brother in law who married the beautiful Amrita Nigam. The picture below showed the newly married couple Ajit and Amrita taken at his mother's home in London, where she was the Indian Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Ajit's mother was Mrs Pandit Nehru Hutheesing, she was also a well known writer. When Ajit was a student in Mumbai, he was an exact comtemporary of Zubin Metha and Mr Suntook, the current Chairman of the National performing Arts in Mumbai. Ajit and Mr Suntook would often visit Zubin's house and it was there that they became very interested in western classical music as Zubin's father would often have the records played at their home. Thanks to Mr Suntook and Nirmal Bhogilal, the latter is a big sponsor of the National Performing Arts, I was able to organise for the Choir of Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge to sing at the Tata Theatre on 1st September. Tickets will be available from www.bookmyshow.com from July 29th. Other concerts: 29th Aug Victoria Concert Hall #Sistic 30th Aug Concert Hall, City Hall #Urbtix via Instagram http://ift.tt/2rteDOS
