Xara Choral Theatre promises a magical winter evening of music and theatre on Saturday at Alderney Landing Theatre in Dartmouth.
Xara Choral Theatre Ensemble releases its first full-length CD, Here on These Branches, at 6:30 p.m. with a performance and talk by artistic directors Christina Murray and Claire Leger.
“The recordings will consist of Canadian selections, including never-recorded pieces by Sarah Quartel, Brent Lee, Jenny Trites and Jeff Enns, paired with music from Finnish, Estonian, Norwegian, and Lapland-Aboriginal traditions, including works by composers Ola Gjeilo, R. Murray Schafer and Jaako Mantyjarvi,” says a news release.
