Certain ideas appear to be so obvious that it’s surprising they didn’t emerge sooner: wheels on the bottom of suitcases, tin openers, mixer taps, that sort of thing. The Bar Choral Society (BCS) is just such an idea, and I’d presumed that 2014 might herald its centenary rather than its inauguration. Yet while the Bar is littered with fine musicians, a commitment to regular rehearsals and performing is not easy to juggle with the preparation of briefs and court appearances.
