Concert in Beckenham will raise money for good causes (molly Kersey)

A star studded gala concert will be held this month.

St George’s Church, Beckenham, will hold the event on October 12 to celebrate the launch of their Choral Foundation.

The concert programme will include Mozart, Wagner and Lehar and will feature acclaimed soloists Susan Bullock and Richard Berkeley-Steele, alongside the choir of St George’s Church, directed by Nigel Groome.

The St George’s Choral Foundation funds two choral scholars, who support the choir of St George’s Church and all its week to week and specialist commitments.

Nigel Groome, director of music at St George’s, said: “It is an honour to welcome such highly regarded soloists to St George’s and for myself and the choir, alongside the choral scholars, to be able to work with them. The concert promises to be a fantastic event with some excellent music and a fitting celebration of the launch of our Choral Foundation, which we are very excited about.”
